With IFA 2026 now up and live, we’ve managed to see a lot of cool new tech from some of the most popular brands in tech, and this includes everything from smartphones, smart home tech, all the way to robot vacuums. With that said, drone manufacturer DJI has officially launched the ROMO 2 series, which consists of the P2 and A2 models, both of which come with some clever tricks up their sleeves.
As such, the new models use DJI’s drone technology which allows for extremely accurate obstacle sensing when performing cleaning tasks, and even a hidden robotic arm which can pick up objects as it cleans your house. The ROMO 2 models also use AI software to distinguish between liquids and solid debris, allowing the robot to adjust its cleaning method as required, such as lifting its mop pads or deploying its arm for spill containment.

To navigate complex indoor environments, the robot is equipped with a LiDAR-guided robotic arm featuring a 123-degree swing. This design extends its reach by 7.8 centimeters and allows it to clean 4.5 centimeters deeper under low furniture without bumping into walls or table legs. For carpet cleaning, DJI has included a pressure plate to create a semi-seal against the floor, generating 36,000 Pa of suction to extract deep-seated dust alongside dual tangle-free side brushes.

It’s clear that the new vacuum models integrate a lot of robotic features, and they can even cross single steps up to four centimeters and double steps up to 8.5 centimeters using specialized robotic legs. The ROMO 2 series models also come with a self-cleaning base station designed for up to a year of maintenance-free operation. The station uses four high-pressure water jets, a 16-millimeter waste suction port, and a nanocrystalline washboard to flush away grime and prevent stain buildup.

The station is also designed to be mostly silent, and uses 32 acoustic noise-reduction materials, maintaining its volume as low as 38 dBA during quiet mopping. The unit also supports 55W fast charging, with a full battery charge in two and a half hours.

Finally, DJI adds that it’s working on a Local Data Mode which is scheduled for release in Q4 2026. This feature severs the DJI Home app’s internet connection to ensure that all data collected by the obstacle-avoidance camera and microphone remains entirely on the device without syncing to external servers. Users retain full control to disable onboard sensors and delete their personal data at any time.
