Limbus Company’s 7th season was packed with some seriously powerful IDs across the board. If you’re a fresh player looking at the dispenser like a kid in a candy store, it can be hard to decide what’s worth grabbing in the limited time we have before Season 8 begins, especially with how many heavy hitters came from the House of Spiders.

Best Characters in Slay the Spire 2, Ranked
The Few, The Proud, The Slay The Spire Squad.
I feel like this season has been one of Limbus’s best, providing absolute monsters for (almost) every team on offer. With Meursault’s Canto on the horizon, there’s no time like the present to fill your roster. I’ll be walking through the 10 best IDs worth grabbing in ascending order, starting with decent picks and ending with absolute musts.
10
The House of Spiders: The Ring Apprentice Faust
Last But Certainly Not Least
The Ring Apprentice Faust follows up Faust’s opening as the very first ID of the season, coming in a duo banner alongside her Nursefather, Ring Hong Lu. On her own, Ring Faust is a fairly solid Bleed/Charge unit that starts the battle slow and sturdy before casting off her armor once she’s reached a Charge threshold.
From then on, she’s a breakneck DPS with serious application and a great Skill 3-2 in her ‘Liberation of the Repressed Flesh’. Functioning great in a full Bleed team and decently in a Charge lineup means Ring Apprentice Faust is decently flexible, decently effective, and an overall decent ID across the board. You aren’t here for decent though, so let’s move on!
9
The Index Proxy – Effloresced E.G.O: Procuration Don Quixote
Her Will and the Prescripts Align
That’s a mouthful of a name for a real heavy hitter, the first half of the Index Duo, the venerable Don Quixote! In her Index Proxy form, Don takes the role of the Index Nursefather’s Apprentice, empowered by her own unstable EGO when she’s done her homework. By following the Prescripts given to her each turn, Don can enter a much stronger form, dealing tons of damage once her Poise is online.
As a Sinking/Poise unit, Don enables her own crits while forcing the enemy to roll worse. Her lackluster Sinking application makes her a bit difficult to slot into the team without backup, but once the enemy is good and debuffed, she’s a great addition to the team, chunking through Sinking Count and enemy HP both. Run her alongside the Index Nursefather for bonus damage.
8
The House of Spiders: The Middle Apprentice Ishmael
DPS Rotation is Nice and Ready!
Taking the form of the recently recruited Kira, Middle Apprentice Ishmael leans all in on the Middle’s niche of counterattacks, Envy Resonance, and Blunt damage. Serving as a solid backup to her Nursefather, Middle Ishmael relies on Envy Resonance to get her debuffs going, but is great at pumping out damage once the team is assembled.
Sadly, that’s her only real role in the team. Ishmael outpaces her fellow apprentices because, while she’s a one-trick pony, she’s very good at her trick. Ishmael is a DPS machine in a proper middle lineup, but her over-reliance on the team makes her difficult to run anywhere else. Luckily, the Middle is one of Limbus’s most effective lineups, so Ishmael will have a spot in my roster for a good long while.
7
The Middle Big Brother Heathcliff
You’re in the Book For Sure, Pal
Outpacing Middle Ishmael ever so slightly is Middle Big Brother Heathcliff, known in the community as Ricardocliff. Middle Heathcliff is essentially a bigger, badder version of Middle Ishmael, trading out the bonus damage Ishmael gets by running with her Nursefather for better status application, stronger solo standing in other non-Middle teams, and a Skill 3-2 that hits like a freight train.

Embrace the challenge against the Paintress with these Expedition 33 challenge run ideas.
With out of the box Bleed/Burn infliction, a stable source of Paralyze on his Skill 2, and his overall solid output, Middle Heathcliff may not be best in slot for other teams, but he’s an absolutely workable option while you build towards other lineups. Use him as a placeholder while you build either Bleed or Burn, and he’ll still perform well. Slot him alongside a full Middle team and he’s a beast, keeping the team on their feet while punishing anyone dumb enough to take a swing at the family.
6
LCA Udjat Vanguard Team 3 Leader Outis
The Vanguard Will See It Done
A major lore confirmation for longtime fans of Project Moon’s work, LCA Udjat Vanguard Team 3 Leader Outis is a phenomenal tank for Sinking/Tremor teams who packs a massive punch. On top of her large HP pool and ability to grant herself Protection, Udjat Outis severely weakens incoming enemy damage thanks to her Unique Panic type, Blue Sand.
Enemies applied with Blue Sand lose Clash Power, gain Sinking when they lose Clashes, and further have their chance to flip heads on a coin reduced by half when targetting Outis. All combined, Outis is a great frontliner who can take a hit and keep on swinging, while making it easier for the team to follow her up. Truly living up to her role as the Vanguard of Season 7!
5
The House of Spiders: The Ring Nursefather Hong Lu
Time for the Exhibit’s Final Close
You’ve reached the top 5, where IDs go from strong to downright ridiculous. Ring Nursefather Hong Lu trails the pack, but he’s still a massive boon to both Bleed and Charge teams, Bleed especially. As a duo unit, Ring Hong Lu is very flexible, arguably best in slot for both teams thanks to his quick charge, great Bleed application, and myriad of debuffs and damage.
Ring Hong Lu also brings Assist Defense to the table, allowing him to intercept unopposed attacks closing in on his allies. When paired with Ring Apprentice Faust, Hong Lu directly buffs her Offensive Level, sharing the spotlight to maximize the pair’s damage. Ring Nursefather Hong Lu also starts the trend of each Nursefather unlocking a devastating upgraded Skill 3-2 by completing a small sub-objective.
For Ring Nursefather Hong Lu, this comes in the form of his Witness the Tableau buff. He starts the fight with 21 stacks, losing 1 any time a member of the Ring uses a Skill. With a proper Bleed lineup fueled by the Ring, Hong Lu can rush his ultimate attack out in no time at all, while granting all Ring allies a unique buff as thanks. An adequate leader who makes for a solid win-con, if you’re a Bleed or Charge player, pocket the Ring.
4
The House of Spider: The Index Nursefather Yi Sang
The Will of Hermes, Executed
Our first absolute demon of the season, Index Nursefather Yi Sang, is a fountain of fan service for Library of Ruina fans who defined the early to mid-Season 7 meta all on his own. Another Sinking/Poise unit that leans hard into the Poise side for big damage, Index Yi Sang relies on following the Prescripts for buffs, just like his apprentice, with one extra caveat.

9 Sega Dreamcast JRPGs Still Trapped on Original Hardware
The Sega Dreamcast was home to some of the most inventive games out there, and some of its JRPGs are still exclusive to the system.
Specifically, whenever Yi Sang lands a Skill’s Coin, he uses one of 9 randomly selected weapons to attack. Different Skills have a different chance of utilizing different weapons, and by following the Prescripts, he has a much greater chance to use weapons he hasn’t yet. For every weapon attack landed, he gains a stack of Procuration: Hermes, his unique buff.
When Yi Sang reaches 9 stacks of Procuration: Hermes, he gains access to his ultimate attack: Furioso-Replica. An exact copy of Ruina’s most iconic Skill, Yi Sang tears through the entire enemy team, culminating in a guaranteed Crit. With some of the highest single Skill damage in Limbus, Yi Sang is worth snagging for the style factor alone. The phenomenal power helps his case, of course.
3
The House of Spiders: The Thumb Nursefather Rodion
The Hunt Comes to a Close
Our resident Thumb resident, Thumb Nursefather Rodion comes at the bottom of our podium finish, boasting stellar Burn and Tremor application, alongside masterful dueling. With her unique ability to dodge after a Clash, win or lose, she’s got uncontested self-sustainment just by avoiding mountains of incoming damage.
Through these dodges, she can evade entire boss mechanics, beating important Unbreakable Clashes while avoiding any kind of consequence. She’s a great pick for the Reflectrials, Refraction Railway 6, any endgame content where incoming damage is all but guaranteed. When paired with her Apprentice, Thumb Heathcliff, she gives him extra attacks to further stack Burn and Tremor, assisting the whole team.
Attacking and dodging overload Rodion’s Eye of Odin, allowing her to tear through a marked enemy with her most damaging Skill, Disposal, when she runs out. An absolute mainstay in one of the best teams in current Limbus, Thumb Nursefather Rodion is a must grab if you mean to take on the toughest content Limbus has to offer.
2
The House of Spiders: The Middle Nursefather Outis
What’s a Little Sacrifice for Family?
Taking an arguable second place, Middle Nursefather Outis is an absolute meta-defining demon, taking the Middle from a solid off-meta team to the best in slot for most endgame content. From easy Mirror Dungeon clears to record Reflectrial times, she does it all thanks to her mountains of Burn application, stupidly high damage, and sheer ease of use.
When run with a team that supplies her with proper Envy Resonance, Middle Outis will break out insane damage numbers while progressing her Rising Fever stacks. Whenever she runs out, she’ll take a Seal off of her sword of legends, Levataiin. Once she does this three times, all her Skills are enhanced for the rest of the fight, dealing even more damage.
She also has a unique, one-time Skill if an ally loses a Clash at low enough HP. Outis will jump in, interrupting the incoming enemy attack by cleaving straight through her ally, dealing damage to both. A shocking, if effective, technique.
1
Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu
Slay the Foe, One by One
Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu is Season 7’s Capstone Identity, serving as a what-if ‘bad end’ to Ryoshu’s story. Here, she’s given up all worldly connections, desperately trying to slice them away with a blade that severs reality itself. Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu (BoHoS for short) is a Burn/Bleed/Poise ID that actively rewards you for sacrificing allies.
If any ally is slotted with an ID from the House of Spiders, BoHoS Ryoshu’s Defensive Skill will end with her one-shotting said ally. The exact unit order for execution is based on the team’s deployment order, and each member of the House of Spiders grants Ryoshu a unique buff, while also increasing her String Severance.
For each stack of String Severance, Ryoshu deals more damage, takes less damage, and when she’s finished her work, grants her extra Skill Slots. She’s a solo run monster, able to easily handle Mirror Dungeon Extreme runs, carve through tough battles, and absolutely destroy once she’s properly set up. Just be sure you’re ready to have some blood on your hands.
