Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, introducing substantial updates to display design, battery endurance, thermal management, and camera technology.
A key visual update centers on the Dynamic Island, reduced by roughly 20% to 16.57 mm thanks to an integrated under-display Face ID system. Powered by iOS 27, the smaller island can display up to three simultaneous Live Activities. Both devices feature Super Retina XDR OLED displays with 120 Hz ProMotion—measuring 6.3 inches on the Pro and 6.8 inches on the Pro Max—along with IP68 water resistance and the custom Apple C2 modem for 5G and satellite connectivity.
Performance is driven by the A20 Pro chip, supported by 12 GB of RAM and an upgraded vapor chamber cooling architecture delivering up to 40% better thermal dissipation. Software features center on the revamped Siri AI and Apple Intelligence, which utilize personal context and on-screen awareness for automated tasks alongside creative tools like Image Playground and photo Clean Up.
Photography receives major updates via a triple 48 MP rear camera array, including an ultrawide lens, a periscope telephoto lens, and a primary sensor equipped with Sensor-Shift stabilization and a variable aperture ranging from f/1.48 to f/4. Videographers also gain native Pro Controls for manual video shooting, while the front camera features an upgraded 18 MP autofocus sensor.
Battery life sees notable improvements:
