Who should use NordVPN?
NordVPN is a great choice for torrenting thanks to its excellent speeds, strong security features, and independently verified no-logs policy. P2P traffic is supported across all of its standard servers, too, so you can simply connect to a fast nearby server rather than hunting around for a dedicated torrenting location.
You also get plenty of useful security extras, including Double VPN, ad- and tracker-blocking, malware protection, and Link Checker. These can come in handy when you’re browsing some of the sketchier corners of the torrenting world—not that we recommend that of course.
NordVPN was also the fastest VPN in my testing, which is a big plus when you’re downloading large files. More advanced users can even pay extra for a dedicated server with a static IP address and port forwarding if they want more control over their setup.
Overall, NordVPN offers pretty much everything you need to make torrenting faster, easier, and, most importantly, safer.
NordVPN: Further considerations
NordVPN supports a wide range of devices, and its Windows and Android apps are especially easy to use.
The biggest downside is price. NordVPN can be expensive if you pay month to month, although its longer subscriptions offer much better value—just be aware of the steep renewal prices. Some of its more advanced security tools are also locked behind higher-tier plans but those upgrades add extra malware and browsing protection, which could be worthwhile for torrenting.
