Lucid recently announced that it’s partnering with mobility platform Bolt to develop and deploy around 25,000 fully autonomous vehicles across multiple European cities and countries. The collaboration is focused on building a vehicle which will be able to support SAE Level 4 autonomous driving—Silvio Napoli, Lucid CEO remarks:

That said, the collaboration will use Lucid’s upcoming midsize vehicle platform as well as NVIDIA’s Hyperion reference system. Bolt plans to own and operate the fleet, which places it one step further towards its goal of featuring 100,000 autonomous vehicles by 2035.
Additionally, Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions will define specific vehicle requirements, safety protocols, and rider-experience parameters while setting the required operating systems, fleet infrastructure, and regional partnerships. Meanwhile, the program will be spearheaded on Lucid’s side by its newly established Lucid Technologies division, which consists of the company’s AI technologies, driver assistance systems, and autonomy functions.

Both companies state that they will collaborate closely with technology partners, European regulators, and policymakers for a safe and secure rollout of autonomous mobility services throughout the region.
